About This Lab
Key Terms: Immunology, Proteins, Flow Cytometry, Receptors
What is your research about and how would you describe your work at the undergraduate/basic level?
We study sugar-binding receptors on our immune cells. These receptors help our white blood differentiate the good from bad.
What kind of students are you looking for (e.g. summer students, volunteers, upper year thesis students, grad students)?
All students are welcome to apply to my lab. I'm always looking for students that are curious and want to learn.
What techniques do you utilize and what equipment does your lab have?
Our 'go-to' is flow cytometry, but we also do microscopy, lots of other techniques as we are quite intradisciplinary.
A fun fact about you that may surprise your students?
In my first and second year of University (UBC) I played on the varsity golf team. Now I don't play anymore because I don't have time.
